Goodbye to 2010

December 31, 2010 | Leave a Comment

Been there before, of course. End of one year and beginning of another. Seems to happen as fast now as the changing of months did when I was a kid. Our own personal mileage can make it pretty much a no big deal event. It is, though, you know? It is, because it marks a passage—something going into memory, something with promise before us, waiting to see what we’ll do with it. When it all distills, it surfaces as a choice. Will we worry, complain, doubt, whine, tear down, condemn, judge others…or, will we feel that promise and use it the way it needs to be used?

Don’t know about you, but when that ball drops tonight, I’ll be sound asleep. One thing I will be doing before drifting off though, is thanking God for this life—for all its beauty and breathtaking promise–for all its true possibilities.

I’ll leave the negative, judgmental stuff to those who think they have the right to do it.

Happy New Year. See you on the other side.
